Kids United Park & Playground

Child's art rendering of the Kids United Park & Playground

Inclusion is a philosophy that is integrated throughout everything we do at the Trager Family Jewish Community Center. The Jewish Community Center operates on the principle that every child can participate, every child can make a friend, and every child can succeed. Inclusion and accessibility promote a sense of belonging and encourages individuals to retain authenticity.

We invite and encourage you to reach out to your Louisville Metro Council Member to support the “Kids United Park & Playground” with Neighborhood Development Funds.

This fully accessible public playground will become a destination for families with children with disabilities. Our playground and park will be an amazing 7,000 square feet of play space for children of all ability, with additional accessible paths and greenspace. Our design exceeds ADA requirements for total accessible ground level components and elevated components accessible by transfer.

We are working to secure the City Council Neighborhood Development Funds in support of our inclusive playground. We have been successful through City Council Allocations in securing $10,000 of the $15,000 allocated funds needed towards the playground from the following Council Members:

  • District 8: Cassie Chambers Armstrong: $5K
  • District 10: Pat Mulvihill: $1K
  • District 12: Rick Blackwell: $1K
  • District 13: Mark Fox: $1K
  • District 16: Scott Reed: $1K
  • District 23: James Peden: $1K

Additional Council Members still have the opportunity to provide their support.
You can still Call or Write your Council Member – either to thank them for their support or to encourage them to contribute at the upcoming October 27th meeting. Your support matters.

You can find Your Louisville Metro Council Member and get their contact information.

Children with disabilities are depending on us to make it happen. Let’s work together to make the “Kids United Park & Playground” a truly needed reality.

The Kids Thank You for your support.
