Honorees of the A. Keith Inman Pediatric NeuroRecovery Community Service Award

The A. Keith Inman Pediatric NeuroRecovery Research Award was established in May, 2022 to honor those who support children and adolescents with spinal cord injury and their families through the gift of their own time and generous support – filling the needs and gaps in healthcare and insurance and other means of community-based support.

This Year’s 2022 Recipients are:

Jennifer Nachreiner and Amy Brown of Rise AgainAmy Brown and Jennifer Nachreiner
Jennifer and Amy established the non-for-profit organization “Rise Again” Rise Again supports those with spinal cord illness or injury to reach beyond expectations. Both Amy and Jennifer are intimately aware of the challenges facing parents and families of children with spinal cord injury. They also provide grants to professionals and organizations who focus on improving the quality of life of those affected by spinal cord injury or illness.

Alyssa created and maintains a Facebook® group “Parents of SCI This social group was established specifically for parents and caregivers of children and adolescents with spinal cord injury and serves as a tremendous resource for these families.

 

 

 

 

A gift of $5,000 was donated to the Shelley A. Trimble Pediatric NeuroRecovery Fund at the University of Louisville on behalf of the awardees. The Trimble fund provides assistance for children with SCI and their families to fill the gaps in insurance, funding for clinical services at UofL Health – Frazier Rehab Institute and travel and lodging for children and families participating in research at the Center for Pediatric NeuroRecovery.
