Mayo Clinic Epidural Stimulator Survey

Mayo Clinic

Researchers at Mayo Clinic invite you to participate in a research study regarding the effects of epidural spinal stimulation use. At this time, epidural spinal stimulation has been used in pilot phase clinical trials at several medical research institutions to examine its therapeutic potential for recovery of voluntary movement, bowel and bladder control, blood pressure, and heart function in a small number of people living with paralysis due to spinal cord injury. If you have a spinal cord injury and have used epidural spinal stimulation, we would appreciate your insight.

The survey will take about 30 minutes to complete depending on your responses. Your individual answers will be kept anonymous. Please understand your participation is voluntary. There are no known risks or direct benefits to you related to participating in this survey-based research study. With the information gained, we intend to increase knowledge of participants’ experiences using epidural spinal stimulation after spinal cord injury. You may be eligible if you have (or had) an epidural stimulator which was implanted for the purpose of functional return.
