Goutam Singh, PhD, Postdoctoral Associate with the Kosair for Kids Center for Pediatric NeuroRecovery, received the Research!Louisville Faculty Award in Clinical Science (pictured to the right.)
He was recognized for his poster submission (as seen above) on research establishing optimal transcutaneous spinal stimulation parameters to augment upright sitting and trunk control in children with spinal cord injury. Dr. Singh along with the team of Kathryn Lucas, PhD, Nicole Stepp, MS, Parth Parikh, Molly King, Beatrice Ugiliweneza, PhD, Yury Gerasimenko, PhD, and Andrea Behrman, PhD, PT, found, along with other conclusions, improvements in kinematics and COP displacement demonstrated achievement of voluntary upright sitting and trunk control in each participant with individually optimized scTS intensity and location.
